Where the Work Comes From
Quantellis emerged from a straightforward observation: many Malaysian organisations were encountering artificial intelligence as a vendor pitch rather than a structured discipline. The gap between what AI could offer and what was being implemented was not a technology gap — it was a research and planning gap.
Founded in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, the firm was built around the conviction that AI engagements should begin with honest assessment — not enthusiasm. Every organisation's situation is different, and the starting question is always the same: is AI genuinely applicable here, and if so, how?
Our work has been shaped by experience across manufacturing, financial services, logistics, and public sector contexts. The common thread has been a preference for structured process over speed, and for transparent documentation over confident-sounding claims.
We are not a software house or a training academy — we are a focused consulting practice that works through defined, deliverable-oriented engagements. When an engagement ends, the client holds the output, the understanding, and the capability to move forward independently.

How We Work
Each engagement is structured around defined standards — from data handling to documentation. These are not internal guidelines; they are commitments we make to clients at the outset.
Defined Deliverables
Every engagement begins with a written scope document specifying exactly what will be delivered, in what format, and by what date.
Data Confidentiality
All client data is handled under NDA as a standard. We comply with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 and document how data is used within each project.
Evidence-Based Recommendations
Our reports reference specific findings from your data and context. Recommendations are accompanied by the reasoning behind them, not just a conclusion.
Responsible AI Practice
We consider fairness, interpretability, and downstream risk as part of any AI design decision. This is built into our methodology, not added at the end.
Full Documentation
Prototype code, model assumptions, training data descriptions, and performance metrics are all documented and handed over as part of the engagement output.
Ongoing Availability
After delivery, we remain available to answer questions about the work. Where a follow-on engagement is appropriate, we are open about what that would involve.
§ 4 — Expertise & Context
Applied AI in the Malaysian Context
Malaysia's AI development landscape is maturing rapidly — with increasing investment in digital infrastructure, a growing pool of technical talent, and regulatory frameworks that are beginning to take shape under the national AI governance agenda. Organisations in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, and across the Klang Valley are navigating these changes with varying degrees of internal readiness.
Quantellis operates in this environment with a deliberately focused scope. We do not offer platform licensing, cloud migration, or IT infrastructure services. Our work is bounded by three service areas — feasibility research, prototyping, and knowledge transfer — and within those areas, we work carefully and thoroughly.
The organisations we work with tend to share a common characteristic: they have a genuine operational problem, some awareness that AI might be relevant, and an appropriate level of uncertainty about whether and how to proceed. That uncertainty is healthy. Our role is to provide a structured basis for the decisions that follow.
Working from Petaling Jaya, Selangor, we are well placed to engage with organisations across Greater Kuala Lumpur, the broader Klang Valley, and throughout Malaysia. Engagements are typically conducted through a combination of on-site workshops and remote collaboration, depending on the nature of the work and the client's preferences.
